Belden REVConnect wins award
Belden Inc., a global leader in signal transmission solutions for mission-critical applications, has announced that its newly launched REVConnect system was recognized at the Platinum level, the highest award, by the judges of the annual Cabling Installation & Maintenance Innovators Awards program. The judging panel consisted of cabling and communications system specifiers, designers, integrators and managers with vast professional experience.
This award recognizes superb innovation, characterized by a groundbreaking approach to meeting a need, and/or a new level of performance, efficiency, ease of use or other beneficial quality.
The mandate that was given to the Belden Engineering teams in Montreal, Canada and Gjern, Denmark was to design a new Category 6A termination process that would improve deployment productivity while maintaining the excellent performance we designed in our 10GXS cables. The development team started with a clean slate, incorporated a lot of customer feedback and came up with a complete new connectivity system that addresses current and future networking applications.
The “R-E-V” in REVConnect stands for a connector that is Reliable, Easy to Use and Versatile. Featuring unique core technology, an installer only needs to learn one process, have one tool and use one set of core components to perform any connectorization from Category 5e to Category 6A jacks, shielded or unshielded and even Category 6A field-mountable plugs. One core termination is compatible with eight different connectors. Its performance meets and exceeds all industry standards, including ANSI/TIA-568-C.2, ISO/IEC 11801 (Classes D through EA) and IEEE 802.3 2012.
